Some Parenting Advise

So I couldn't agree with this article more....

Parenting is hard, it is unpredictable, it is unique, it is trying, it is stressful, and most of all rewarding.
But, like this writer is exemplifying....my only advise to new parents (or parents to an additional child) is to keep your sense of humor.

If you ever need a reminder of that, read this article...you will laugh right off your chair.

Warning: the article contains some foul language..sorry!

Parenting Humor Article

Love you all!!
And keep laughing even when you want to cry [I can say it....but can't always do it!]

Ayden's Superhero Party

It should come as no surprise that Ayden requested a Super Hero Birthday Party for this 4th birthday.
It should also come as no surprise that I literally took ZERO photos of the entire event.

[I am seriously in the running for mom of the year this year]

But, that doesn't mean that I don't want to memorialize the day.

We started the day with a lot of logistical chaos :) and a lot of Superhero costume creating. Ayden and Gavin had it easy; they have too many superhero outfit options. As for Mommy and Daddy...we had to get more creative.

So, what do all superheros need??  A cape.

Thankfully, we had just thrown out bed sheets with holes that I tore up and make capes from. [In full disclosure, I never actually put mine on. Jeremy did all of the Superhero parenting the entire day]

In fact, Jeremy took it to the next level and fully clothed himself as The Mighty Thor. Ayden was very impressed with the effort, telling me that "Daddy is trying very hard to look like Thor and I appreciate that." [he likes to use the work 'appreciate']

The party was thrown in two phases. Phase 1 was at My Gym. Ayden had also specifically requested this portion of the day. We had an amazing turn out and the kids just played and played and played. What is better than kids screaming and laughing and running around with cheek to cheek grins??

From here, we took the party to a nearby park for Phase 2, where those without kids were encouraged to meet us for more playing, lunch eating and birthday singing.

It was one heck of a busy day and the boys had such a blast. It never fails to amaze me what a wonderful group of friends and family we have. I can picture no more perfect way to celebrate with the kids.

I also can't fathom how I now have a 4 year old and a 2 year old!!! [not to mention that little one who  is counting down the days until her appearance!]

This family is my life and these kids.....well, they are my everything.....not to mention my very own, real life superheros.

[I think Gavin's 5 hour nap is the most telling of just how much fun we had. Granted, he was coming down with a cold....but really....5 hours???!!!]
