Inspiring

You all know how I love to read about, hear about, witness, encourage (etc) people's journey to being healthy and fit. I'm not sure where it comes from exactly, but I can tell you that little gives me the chills and excitement as learning about someone who has taken responsibility for their health and is setting and achieving goals.[side note - I hope to someday do something with this passion...someday] Well, I came across this on a triathlete's blog and thought we could all use a little inspiration sometimes.

For the record, I don't think there is only one path to health and fitness, but regardless of the path one chooses, we are all responsible for our own well-being and I can guarantee that whatever path you are on, you make difficult and conscious choices each and every day to stay on it....and that is awesome and something that should be celebrated.

So, for the hard days when you need some inspiration, you can come to this blog and watch this video again......and again.....and again.....

Enjoy. [Oh...and you might grab a tissue if you are anything like me :)]

M&D

[Another month old post]

Today's post is brought to you by the letters M and D...

Today as I was laying Ayden down for nap we had this conversation:

Ayden: "Mommy, what letter does Mildred and Dildred (our favorite local kids shop) start with?

Me: "Mildred starts with M and Dildred starts with D."

Ayden: "A M and a D.....that's like mommy and daddy right?!?"

Me: [thinking] wow.

Boys Play Ball

[This post is about three weeks old....but I haven't been in my blog to even remember that I drafted this...how sad...]

With Gavin walking, it is like a whole new world around here. The boys will entertain themselves for 30-45min at a time at night in the playroom or workroom  - It....is....awesome!! It has been about a week that we have been able to enjoy our own adult dinner time where we actually sit down at the table and have an adult conversation without feeding children, containing flailing arms, holding someone, entertaining someone, cleaning someone, or negotiating bites. After the boys eat, they will go play together with very minimal supervision required. I have no doubt this 'playtime' will soon evolve into some serious rough housing (seeing as though they already wrestle - another new addition since Gavin began walking), but for now I am content to bask in the 20min of adult time.

About 24 hours after Gavin really started to walk everywhere, the boys were throwing the ball around together in the playroom. It is clear that Ayden is super excited that Gavin is growing into a real playmate. For both of them it seems with Gavin's walking came a new appreciation for each other. Ayden has started to really engage Gavin in his play, and Gavin is just loving being included - the way he observes every move his brother makes is adorable. Not only does he observe though, he watches then takes action. He is now climbing on everything (like Ayden), racing cars (like Ayden), throwing blocks in the bucket (like Ayden) and trying to 'run' (like Ayden).
